As-Built Construction
As-builts provide an accurate record of a building or site’s existing conditions, including architectural, structural, utility, and MEP system dimensions, locations, and material specifications for reliable project planning.
Point Cloud of a Factory
Point Clouds
By representing spatial data as a collection of x, y, and z coordinates, point clouds deliver 2–4-millimeter accurate datasets of buildings, facilities, and sites that can be mined for information. This 3D dataset of existing site conditions can be processed into 3D BIM models, 3D meshes, and 2D CAD drawings.
BIM Modeling of a Infrastructure
BIM Modeling
3D BIM models deliver a geometrically accurate digital representation of a building or site, capturing infrastructure, spatial relationships, maintenance information, product models, as well as additional property and layer information. GPRS transforms point clouds into custom 3D BIM models and 3D mesh models at any level of detail, supplying a powerful tool to collaborate on a building’s design, construction, and operation.
3D Photogrammetry in a Warehouse
3D Photogrammetry
The 4K HDR photographs and LiDAR point clouds captured with Matterport photogrammetry can be used to create digital twins, virtual tours, floor plans, 2D CAD plan views, 3D models, and more to communicate design and renovation plans, coordinate construction activities, develop emergency plans & safety procedures.
2D CAD Drawings | GPRS
2D CAD Drawings
Site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, isometric drawings, reflected ceiling plans, and more can be created and used for record-keeping, construction & renovation planning, building modifications, trade coordination, and maintenance.
Mapping & Modeling
Discover all types of scan-to-BIM deliverables and determine which ones best suit your needs. Accurate data allows clients to expedite design planning & engineering, extract 3D coordinates and measure distances, along with the ability to tour, mark-up, and share with the project team.

Location: Houston, Texas Task: GPRS provided laser scanning services for the Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas. The client desired to replace the current seating and did not have accurate drawings. The primary objective was to capture the existing dimensions of the seating, ramps, stairs, floor and stage area. The client requested the raw scan data to design the new layout of the seats. Challenge: The client has a remote laser scanner; however, due to inclement weather, could not make the flight to Houston. With a full concert schedule and a limited window of opportunity to laser scan, the client contacted GPRS to handle this project for them. Solutions: Since GPRS offers nationwide service, a Project Manager (PM) quickly mobilized to the site to perform laser scanning. Using the Leica HDS7000 Ultra-High-Speed Laser Scanner with Extended Range, the PM captured the existing conditions and delivered point cloud data to the client the next day. Deliverables: GPRS delivered raw scan data (.zfs files) to the client. No registration was required for this project. Added Value: GPRS worked quickly to provide laser scan data to the client, allowing them to begin designing the new seating for the Arena Theatre. The client trusted GPRS to provide the highest quality laser scan data in the shortest period of time. 3D Laser Scanning a Spiral Staircase

GPRS provided laser scanning services to capture data from a staircase and railings to generate a 3D model in STP file format. The target objects of acquisition were the staircase features including treads, rails and rail hangers. The 3D model was needed to create custom drawings to prefabricate an irregular railing.
GPRS is experienced in 3D laser scanning spiral staircases.
Location: New York, NY Task: GPRS provided laser scanning services to capture data from a staircase and railings to generate a 3D model in STP file format. The target objects of acquisition were the staircase features including treads, rails and rail hangers. The 3D model was needed to create custom drawings to prefabricate an irregular railing. Challenge: It was difficult for the client to accurately make three-dimensional measurements of staircase and railing using conventional tools. Manually trying to take enough measurements in the X, Y, Z axis to comprehensively and accurately model the unique shape and contours would have been tedious and nearly impossible. Solutions: High resolution point cloud data was collected by an experienced scan technician in 20 scan locations and four hours on site. Accurate measurements of all parts of the stairway, including the whole step surface, balustrade, handrails and adjacent floor and wall surfaces were quickly captured. Deliverable: GPRS’ in-house engineers delivered intensity map point cloud files, 3D model in STP file format and TruView’s (3D photographs overlaid on top of the point cloud data) to the client.Added Value: The GPRS scan technician was met on site by an Italian-based design firm to discuss using the 3D model to generate design specs. In this case, the client was interested in dimensions of the railing for fabrication. 3D laser scanning generates point cloud data and engineers can summarize the data into a 3D model. Every dimension on the staircase can be determined quickly and accurately. Another benefit of laser scanning includes being able to immerse a viewer in the virtual scene without the need for a site visit. 3D laser scanning is a powerful tool for capturing measurements where precision and accuracy are critical.

3D Laser Scanning a Historic Church for Restoration

To complete the restoration of the church, the client required accurate 2D CAD drawings with precise measurements of the structural and architectural elements.
Our client needed accurate as built documentation to complete a $1.2 million restoration and improvement project for a historic church. The 1875-built church in Glandorf, Ohio was the largest Roman Catholic church built at the time. Built in Neo-Gothic style, it contained a 225-foot spire, beautiful statues imported from Austria and stained-glass windows imported from Germany. In 2017, the church underwent a 3-month historic restoration and improvement project. The project involved preventive measures including fiber-glassing the interior walls, painting and installing updated storm windows to protect the stained glass. In addition, damaged sections of the archway and niches were repaired, and a ceiling was lowered in the vestibule to highlight a stained-glass window.
GPRS’ client needed accurate as-built documentation to complete a $1.2 million restoration and improvement project for a historic church.
Our client provides historic restoration services and is dedicated to providing excellence in conservation and restoration. To complete the restoration of the church, the client required accurate CAD drawings with precise measurements of the structural and architectural elements. With a Leica P40 laser scanner, GPRS quickly captured the structural and architectural details of the church’s interior with92 laser scans. 3D laser scanning captured full spatial and color data with high detail and precision. Laser scanning can capture extreme detail for even the most intricate buildings easily. 3D laser scanning delivered a valuable data set to the client. Intensity map point cloud files provided digital visualization. 2D CAD drawings were created from accurate scan data. From skyscrapers to sewer lines, GPRS Intelligently Visualizes The Built World® to keep your projects on time, on budget, and safe.
