As-Built Construction
As-builts provide an accurate record of a building or site’s existing conditions, including architectural, structural, utility, and MEP system dimensions, locations, and material specifications for reliable project planning.
Point Cloud of a Factory
Point Clouds
By representing spatial data as a collection of x, y, and z coordinates, point clouds deliver 2–4-millimeter accurate datasets of buildings, facilities, and sites that can be mined for information. This 3D dataset of existing site conditions can be processed into 3D BIM models, 3D meshes, and 2D CAD drawings.
BIM Modeling of a Infrastructure
BIM Modeling
3D BIM models deliver a geometrically accurate digital representation of a building or site, capturing infrastructure, spatial relationships, maintenance information, product models, as well as additional property and layer information. GPRS transforms point clouds into custom 3D BIM models and 3D mesh models at any level of detail, supplying a powerful tool to collaborate on a building’s design, construction, and operation.
3D Photogrammetry in a Warehouse
3D Photogrammetry
The 4K HDR photographs and LiDAR point clouds captured with Matterport photogrammetry can be used to create digital twins, virtual tours, floor plans, 2D CAD plan views, 3D models, and more to communicate design and renovation plans, coordinate construction activities, develop emergency plans & safety procedures.
2D CAD Drawings | GPRS
2D CAD Drawings
Site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, isometric drawings, reflected ceiling plans, and more can be created and used for record-keeping, construction & renovation planning, building modifications, trade coordination, and maintenance.
Mapping & Modeling
Discover all types of scan-to-BIM deliverables and determine which ones best suit your needs. Accurate data allows clients to expedite design planning & engineering, extract 3D coordinates and measure distances, along with the ability to tour, mark-up, and share with the project team.

Vanderbilt University's Legends Golf Club Expansion & Renovation Relied on GPRS 3D Laser Scanning Services

The 17,000 s.f. golf club, including pro shop, locker rooms, and restaurant areas were all 3D scanned in a single day with minimal operational interruption to provide 1/4" accurate structural & architectural models
GPRS 3D Laser Scanning provides existing conditions documentation to Vanderbilt University's Legends Golf Club
Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club renovations aimed for "elite facility" status, aided by GPRS 3D Laser Scanning and Mapping & Modeling Services
Vanderbilt University planned an expansion and renovations of its Legends Golf Club to propel it to "elite facility" statusThe architect on the project needed accurate existing conditions documentation to develop a design plan and solicit bids from construction companiesThe club management required that any work be completed with minimal operational interference GPRS 3D laser scanned the two-story, 17,000 s.f. clubhouse in one day with the Leica RTC360An intensity map point cloud file, 2D CAD drawings, and a Revit 3D model were all delivered to the architect via GPRS Mapping & Modeling TeamDocumenting architectural elements, such as the building envelope, walls, windows, doors, ceilings, exposed columns, beams, and posts with 2-4mm accuracy was critical to the renovation effort Capturing real-time existing conditions prior to designing the expansion & renovation reduced reworks, waste, and mistakesThe 1/4" accuracy provided by the architectural and structural model allowed for extremely detailed plans to be delivered to the contractorThe building renovations created a state-of-the-art facility for the team, the membership, and to aid in recruitment efforts

Power Plant Renovations Require 3D Laser Scanning

In just one day on site, GPRS was able to capture the entire existing condition of the facility, even in dense pipe runs and hard-to-reach spaces, with 2-4mm accuracy to provide the client with an accurate 3D BIM model for planning, fabrication, and clash detection
An engineering firm needed to have existing conditions of a power plant documented and modeled to plan for renovations.
An engineering firm needed to have existing conditions of a power plant documented and modeled to plan for renovations.
Problem • The client needed to accurately document the existing conditions of the plant without interruptions to the power supply • Many of the pipe runs were dense and impossible to accurately measure by hand • The client required 2-4 mm accuracy of dense piping and pipe runs throughout the facility • The client needed to guarantee that installations complied with safety regulations Solution • In one day on site, GPRS' Project Manager used the Leica RTC360 laser scanner to capture 150 laser scans, documenting existing conditions of the facility • Many of the pipe runs were dense and impossible to accurately measure by hand • GPRS generated a 3D BIM model for use in CAD software, including all civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical features, piping, and conduit 1" and larger Benefits • Due to the vast space and density of the piping, it would have been much more difficult and time consuming to accurately depict the location of pipe runs, structural features, and other details in the plant manually • The point cloud data from laser scanning was used by CAD technicians to create an intelligent 3D BIM model for planning, fabrication and clash detection • Verified measurements and virtual planning guarantee installations will comply with safety regulations • Using virtual 3D models, the firm can plan and model future developments to manage the facility without having to re-enter the site

3D Laser Scanning for Building Redevelopment

Accurate 3D BIM modeling allowed the developer and two architectural firms to collaborate and more easily communicate with their general contractor, which saved time and money on a massive adaptive reuse project
$30 Million Hotel & Parking Garage Adaptive Reuse Project Required Accurate 3D Visualizations
Laser scanning to create a 3D BIM model of a 15-story hotel and adjacent parking garage for building redevelopment. The developer requested a 3D BIM model that accurately captured existing conditions in a cloud-based platform so they could document, view, and plan for structural renovationsWith a 3D model, the architectural team was able to view the existing conditions at the onset of the project. The model was then updated as construction progressed to keep all parties on the same page throughout the projectThe 3D model allowed the firms to communicate construction requirements to the general contractor to avoid miscommunications, reworks, delays, and cost overruns
$30 million-budgeted adaptive reuse project converting 130,000 sq. ft. hotel property into 100 residential units Most floors of the building were completely gutted: only the exterior envelope and interior circulation core remained intact With two architectural firms, a developer, and a G.C. meant that this project involved many professionals a lot of planning before breaking ground The developer requested a 3D BIM model that accurately captured existing conditions in a cloud-based platform so they could document, view, and plan for structural renovations With a 3D model, the architectural team was able to view the existing conditions at the onset of the project. The model was then updated as construction progressed to keep all parties on the same page throughout the project The 3D model allowed the firms to communicate construction requirements to the general contractor to avoid miscommunications, reworks, delays, and cost overruns The 3D model allowed the architectural team to troubleshoot the restoration and adaptation while keeping historic elements intact to preserve the building's characterDelivering the 3D BIM model in a digital format with the ability to update and edit, streamlined communication and collaboration across a large and diverse project team to bring the project in with fewer clashes, reworks, and mistakes, saving time and money
