PROJECT APPLICATION
ASK
Task
Investigate the conditions of underground sewer lines for an ongoing city sewer project
PROBLEM
- The city of St. Louis was planning to tie a private sewer system into their public infrastructure
- The stormwater compliance & management company needed to provide an assessment of the sewers’ current conditions to city officials
- They had the most recent as-builts but didn’t know the pipe’s current interior conditions
Solution
- GPRS Project Managers deployed a remote-controlled sewer inspection crawler and push-fed sewer scope to investigate and document the conditions of the underground pipes over the course of one day
- A NASSCO-compliant WinCan report, with every defect ranked by severity and identified with photo and video evidence, was created once the investigation was completed
- The Project Manager uploaded all the data and videos to the SiteMap Sewer Layer, a new feature that securely stores VPI reports and videos
Benefits
- The client sent the detailed reports to the city ahead of schedule
- With the results securely stored on the SiteMap Sewer Layer, the client can access all the reports and videos in one easy-to-use interface for this project and any future O&M
- Because of the timely results and capabilities of the SiteMap Sewer Layer, the client has requested to continue working with GPRS on further projects
