Task
Conduct 3D laser scans of a professional basketball arena in preparation for the installation of a new, large LED display
PROBLEM
- The client was tasked with installing a 220’ x 8’ curved LED screen
- They need to confirm that the steel structure met the necessary requirements to hold the new display
- The arena was in operation and undergoing other offseason renovations
Solution
- GPRS deployed a Leica 3D laser scanner to accurately document the entirety of the steel structure
- The Project Managers worked around the other trades on-site and captured accurate scans despite steady foot traffic in the project area
- GPRS’ in-house Mapping & Modeling Team used the data collected to create a 3D model for the client
