Concrete Openings Magazine Features GPRS/Concrete Sawing & Drilling Safety Week

Publication Focuses on Silicosis Prevention & Concrete Safety in the AEC Industries with CSDSW Article
GPRS is featured in Concrete Openings Magazine's December issue for its outreach on concrete safety & silicosis awareness and prevention

Concrete Openings Magazine, the official magazine of the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association, recently featured GPRS, the national leader in concrete scanning, utility locating, 3D laser scanning, and other infrastructure visualization services, in their December 2023 issue for being the main sponsor of Concrete Sawing and Drilling Safety Week (CSDSW) 2024.

In the article, it is shared that this weeklong event is “a valuable opportunity for attendees to grow their knowledge base and resources on how to prevent risks associated with cutting, coring, and drilling through concrete.”

A main topic of discussion within the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industries and key focus for CSDSW 2024 presentations is the incurable and progressive lung disease, silicosis. Silicosis and the dangers of Respirable Crystalline Silica are briefly discussed within the article, recommending preventative precautions such as proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and ventilation. Other risks associated with coring, cutting, or drilling through concrete are mentioned to demonstrate why signing up for Concrete Sawing & Drilling Week safety presentations on your jobsite is so important in 2024.

GPRS sends hundreds of concrete safety experts to construction sites throughout the U.S. to provide this free safety training

CSDSW 2024 on Your Jobsite

From January 29th – February 2nd GPRS Safety Experts will travel the country to give complimentary Concrete Sawing and Drilling Safety Week presentations. These free educational seminars include breakfast or lunch and are focused on mitigating the risks of working with and around concrete. From pinch points and kickbacks, to electrical shock and silicosis prevention, attendees will be provided the opportunity to minimize the risks associated with concrete sawing and drilling. The potentially lifesaving information provided also helps workers develop their own personal safety plans for when they are on the job.

In 2023 alone more than 8,000 workers, 35 major markets, and 150+ companies were reached at Concrete Sawing & Drilling Safety talks. Since the launch of CSDSW over 20,000 workers have learned to be safer and healthier when working with concrete so that everyone on site can go home safely at the end of the day.

Samet Corporation in Charlotte, North Carolina, welcomed GPRS for a CSDSW talk on site
