GPRS Performs Sewer Pipe CCTV Video Camera Inspection in Tampa Bay, Florida
Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GPRS) was recently called out to perform a CCTV video sewer pipe inspection in Southern Florida for the City of Tampa. The contractor that performed a new building project required a post video inspection of the storm drain system installation. Video pipe inspection services are a great option for detailed inspections of pipe installation including to slope and secure pipe joints, along with any pipe sagging and other structural defects or blockages.
GPRS Project Manager, Tyler Papworth, was able to mobilize to the site and perform the video camera pipe inspection. This project required the use of several tools. First, the PM lowered a robotic crawler camera down a nearby storm drain inlet. This rover-type sewer camera is able to crawl up to 1,000 feet into a main line and perform video inspections. During these inspections, GPRS found that the 6” PVC sewer pipe was in good condition with no pipe defects detected. The next step for this project was to use a push camera to access the smaller 4” storm pipes. During this pipe line inspection, GPRS found that the 4” PVC pipe was in good condition with no defects detected.
GPRS has many different subsurface inspection services including manhole inspections, cross bore locating, sewer inspections, sewer and water pipe locating, and sewer lateral video inspections.
