Sanitary Sewer Inspection

GPRS Perform Sanitary Sewer Inspection in Kansas City

For this job, GPRS was recently called out to a state park near Kansas City, Missouri to investigate sanitary sewer lines prior to the cabins opening for the season. This investigation took place to make sure they were in proper working order and no sections of pipe needed to be replaced.

GPRS Project Manager, Chris Rentz, was called out to the site to provide a CCTV inspection of the conditions of these sewer pipes. The robotic crawler video camera was used to drive down the line to inspect the pipe from all angles, while rotating 360 degrees around to determine the conditions of the joints. Upon inspection of the pipelines, we had come a cross a few sections that had heavy root exposure coming through the joints of old terra-cotta lines, which have been in the park for many years. Chris also encountered a few sections where the roots had shifted the pipe sections, causing it to be offset, which would allow the roots to grow bigger in the pipes and simultaneously allow water to exit the pipes through the joints that had been opened. We were able to Locate and Inspect the roots and the off set joints of the Sanitary Sewers so the park could have the lines cleaned and fix the sections of pipe that were offset before future problems occurred.
