Led by Boon Bowling, Market Segment Leader of Reality Capture, the session will detail the use of the Leica RTC360 scanner to document three interconnected buildings for a major expansion and renovation: the Joseph M. Wylie Fincher Building, the Trammell Crow Building, and the Cary M. Maguire Building.

“I'm excited to share how we've been able to partner with such a strong and historic institution like SMU and help them move their beautiful campus into the future,” Bowling said.

The Mapping & Modeling Team produced comprehensive point cloud datasets and delivered 3D Revit models, along with floor plans and exterior elevations. These deliverables were integral to guiding SMU’s renovation strategy and expansion planning.

This presentation will offer fellow industry professionals insight into laser scanning workflows, modeling best practices, and the benefits of implementing reality capture on historic preservation projects. The session aims to equip architects and design teams with actionable methods for integrating 3D laser scanning into future design and restoration efforts.
