GPRS Conducts Indoor Utility Locating Scan - Kansas City, MO

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was contracted to locate any utilities that could impact a small renovation in a department store in Kansas City. The contractor had to cut the floor in order to install new electrical and communications conduit to a new checkout counter. This had to be done without impacting the rest of the store. The concrete floor was cut without damaging any existing conduits because they were not only located, but a depth was also found by the technician. GPRS utilizes multiple technologies while scanning areas such as this to help eliminate any hazards that could be encountered with a project like this.

GPRS’s efforts to locate the unknowns keeps your project on schedule, reduces risk of danger and costly repairs in any building. Whether it is an elevated concrete slab or SOG, it is a good idea to utilize the services that GPRS has to offer. Cutting or excavating in any building without an investigation like this could and will likely have a negative impact on the building, neighboring spaces, and those doing the work. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Kansas City is able to take on the scanning needs of the greater Kansas City area, Lawrence, Topeka, and St. Joseph areas. GPR Floor Scan Prior to Installing Electrical Lines - Olathe, KS

Office space and retail space is constantly being renovated with new tenants or new looks to the company. Whenever the renovation requires coring, cutting or excavating, there are unknowns that can greatly impact the project as well as the building and its tenants. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems specializes in identifying where these possible hazards are and help find ways to avoid them. GPRS recently scanned the floor of an existing retail space that was updating their display. The objective was to cut a trench for some new electrical in the middle of the floor. The technician was able to accurately locate several conduits that ran in the contractor’s proposed path. With the overwhelming amount of utilities in the path, an alternate path was also scanned with less obstacle. The information provided by GPRS was very valuable because the contractor was able to install the new power without affecting any of the existing utilities and the store experienced no problems.
