GPRS Used to Locate Underground Utilities - Little Rock, Arkansas

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems’ Memphis, Tennessee office worked with an environmental company to locate utilities prior to soil boring at a property in downtown Memphis. GPRS scanned a 15’ radius around each proposed soil boring to clear the environmental company of all underground utilities. GPRS uses non-destructive testing equipment to locate utilities, piping, power-lines, underground storage tanks, and grave sites that are unable to be seen. Using GPRS is a safe, cost effective way to make sure you can safely drill or dig and not destroy any underground utilities or determine if USTs do or do not exist on a property.

Concrete Scanning Before Coring and Saw-cutting - Little Rock, Arkansas

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Arkansas received a call from a general contractor working in Little Rock with concerns about what may be in the slab prior to core drilling in a bank. He asked what type of results he could expect when scanning concrete elevated slab prior to core drilling.

GPR can locate conduits, tension cable, rebar, slab boxes, voids and more, which allows for incident free drilling or sawing. Knowing where to cut and where not to can help maintain the integrity of a project, as well as prevent costly or even dangerous incidents.

While on site GPR was able to locate post tension cables in all ten of the contractor's coring locations. We cleared an area in each location for the contractor to core so that there would be no issues or danger involved when core drilling.

We also let him know about our outdoor utility locating services. Excavating outdoors is often quite a challenge with the huge amount of infrastructure underground; including electrical lines, pipes, gas lines and tanks that are in the ground. The “811” service is in place to locate public utilities however, they do not locate private utilities which are just as dangerous.
