Concrete Scan for Rebar, PT Cables, Conduits - San Diego, California

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of Southern California was contacted by a general contractor in order to scan for rebar, post tension cables, or conduits in a concrete deck prior to coring (4) 2” holes for a new drain location. We scanned one area, approximately 18’X6’, and marked all of the findings onto the surface with spray paint. In the areas scanned, we located a 6”x6” section of wire mesh. We were able to locate all dowel bars in the area for them to avoid when drilling.

GPR scanning is a great tool to use to locate post tension cables, rebar, and conduits. It can also be used to scan for underground utilities prior to excavating or directional boring. GPRS has offices throughout the entire state of California and performs projects in cities such as; Murrieta, Menifee, Temecula, Escondido, El Cajon, La Mesa, El Centro, Palm Springs, San Diego, North County, Inland Empire, and San Clemente.
