Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GPRS) of the Houston office was called by an international industrial company to perform an analysis of the reinforcement in a concrete slab prior to adding a new building to the slab. Allyn Hirsch, technician on site, used GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) 1600 MHz antenna penetrating about 18 inches into the slab and soil, locating all reinforcement, the size of the rebar, and noting any presence of grade beams in the slab. In the picture above, the layout of the reinforcement has been marked out in the area of the proposed building, along with slab depth, and rebar size.
