GPRS Uses GPR to Perform Concrete Scanning in Fargo, North Dakota

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. was contacted by an electrical contractor in Fargo, ND prior to drilling through an elevated concrete slab. The contractor was concerned about drilling through critical reinforcement and thus contacted GPRS to do concrete scanning using GPR (ground penetrating radar). This particular project involved the building of a 17-story building in downtown Fargo along with an adjacent parking ramp. This particular Fargo building had lots of different types of slabs with consduits, rebar and post-tension reinforcement in different areas. GPRS was able to perform the concrete scanning in a non-destructive and timely matter without interfering with the other work being done on site. While on site, GPRS was able to help out another Fargo plumbing contractor with locating rebar in a poured wall prior to core drilling. With the schedule and scope of this Fargo project being of highest importance, GPRS was able to have a project manager on site within 24-48 hours. By having project managers located near all major cities nationwide, GPRS is the industry leader in providing the highest level of concrete scanning with the use of ground penetrating radar. GPR was able to accurately identify the location and depth of the conduits and reinforcement located within the concrete slab. The results were able to be seen in real time and marked on the concrete in a way to clearly communicate where it is safe to drill. By working with the subcontractors with a consultative approach, GPRS was able to keep this Fargo project on schedule as well as helping to keep everyone safe while working on site. Multiple different GPR antennas were used on this site in order to provide the best possible information, whether the scanning was on the floor, ceiling or wall.
