GPRS Used to Help Core Drillers Miss Reinforcing in Mansfield, MA
A General Contractor had a project in Mansfield, MA inside of the Mansfield Water Treatment Plant. The scope of the project was to core drill through the floor in multiple locations so that the different trades involved in the project could run various pipes and conduits. The core drillers did not want to hit any structural reinforcing or conduits while drilling in order to save time and money on saw blades and ensure the safety of everyone involved with the project. The General Contractor decided to contact Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Rhode Island after learning that they have been in business since 2001 & are the best for the job. Each technician has the experience & qualifications of performing over 350 surveys per year. GPRS was able to complete the investigation the next day and allowed the project to proceed without hitting a single piece of structural reinforcing or any conduits. GPRS uses real time applications and are experienced enough to be able to locate and differentiate between all of the reinforcing and conduits, and give the client the safest and most ideal locations on each wall to core drill through.
At the job site, GPRS scanned the Mansfield Water Treatment Plant in 8 locations on two different floors. All reinforcing and conduits were marked and given an approximate depth to ensure nothing would be hit. The General Contractor now had the information they needed to proceed with the project without causing any delay in business, which is imperative when working for an operation that provides services to multiple cities and towns. The General Contractor was enamored with the quality of work that was performed, and the timely, efficient manner in which it was done.
