GPRS mobilized to this particular site in Tarpon Springs and used ground penetrating radar as well as radio detection to map all unknown utilities on the surface of the concrete. There was a potential electrical conduit found that Uretek was able to avoid hitting and the project was completed successfully. Uretek has continued to be complimentary of ground penetrating radar as a technology and GPRS as the GPR service provider of choice. We at GPRS look forward to serving Uretek on many future projects.

Concrete scanning and surveying is a common application performed by the GPR technicians at GPRS. Uretek ICR had a small project in Tarpon Springs, FL where they intended to drill several small holes through the concrete floor slab of a home. The purpose of the drilling was to perform their chemical grout injection process and lift/solidify the slab from future movement. Being that this process involves drilling there is the potential for them to hit unknown utilities beneath the slab. Specifically they run the risk of hitting water lines and sanitary sewer lines. With this concern they frequently contact Ground Penetrating Radar Systems to come to the site and survey to find the utilities before they begin the drilling process. Over the last couple years GPRS has built a good relationship with Uretek as GPRS continues to provide superior locating services that help Uretek avoid hitting utilities that could be costly to repair. |
