On a recent project for some condos in New Jersey there were thought to be Under Ground Storage Tanks (UST) on site. Our Company Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GPRS) were called to the site to determine the:
Utility clearance of approximately 4 soil boring/well locations,
- Geophysical Survey of the parking lot area to locate
potential petroleum underground storage tanks (USTs),
- Geophysical survey to trace out any additional utilities on site.
We used the sir 3000 attached to the 500MHz antenna to find all the hyperbolas in the sub grade. After marking out all our findings we used our RD7000 equipment to further identify the utilities on the premise.
From the data we collected we were able to conclude that there were no underground storage tanks (UST) on the premise. Though we did not find any UST’s the data we collected showed us that there had been soil disturbance below areas in the parking lot where the tanks were probably removed at an earlier date.
