The new Renaissance Hotel by Marriott at the North Hills mall in Raleigh, North Carolina needed the post-tensioned cable and rebar located prior to coring through the concrete. Mitch Ross of Ground Penetrating Radar Systems has worked several days on this job site, scanning over 100 separate areas and marking the reinforcing steel on the concrete. When the concrete is cut later, they are able to cut and core without hitting and damaging the reinforcing in the building. The GPR also shows the depth of the reinforcing steel in the concrete.
