Hydrologic Associates
USA, Inc.
GPR Project, Miami, FL
When
Hydrologic Associates USA, Inc. in Miami, FL needed to
survey a former gas station to locate any underground
storage tanks (UST’s)
that may still be onsite, they contact Ground Penetrating
Radar Systems, Inc. The goal of the survey was to determine
if the UST
was still on site. Based on records and site planning
Hydrologic believed the tank had been removed, however,
they needed to be sure. GPR
is a great technology for determining underground storage
tank presence.
Once
on site, GPRS was
able to survey the area and determined that the tank had
indeed been removed. However, they were able to locate
the original vent piping and conduit still in the ground.
This survey was extremely helpful for the Hydrologic.
Not only were they able to determine that the tank was
removed but they now know what utilities are still present
in the ground. The survey was a success and Hydrologic
intends to use GPRS
in the future.
Chris Moore runs GPRS
operations in the South East Region of the US, focusing
on Florida. He is based in Orlando, FL and he can be reached
at (727)420-3292 or by email at chris.moore@gp-radar.com.
UST scanning
for the purposes of identifying the location of underground
storage tanks is a frequent service performed by the GPR
technicians at GPRS.
