In June of 2008 when Froehling and Robertson Inc. in Richmond, Va. needed a parking lot in downtown Richmond scanned for an Underground Storage Tanks prior to the sale of the property they contacted GPRS, Inc. The parking lot that was to be scanned was a gas station back in the 1940’s and they were unsure if there were still any UST’s on the property.
GPRS Virginia Office took the call on Friday and was able to get to the site on Monday morning as requested and used our 400MHz antenna to scan the lot for the presence of any UST’s. A large area in the North West corner of the lot was found to contain a possible UST and the area was then marked directly onto the surface of the parking lot. We later found out that this was the exact location of the old gas station.
GPRS, Inc. then went over the area again to ensure there was no presence of any additional utilities, such as electric, in the area. This was done to ensure that Froehling and Robertson could do soil boring in the area without worry of striking any other utilities while doing their testing.
