Utility Scanning at NAS in Kingsville, Texas

When Chevron Energy was looking to some equipment out at the NAS base in Kingsville, Texas they needed to be sure that they would not run into any underground utilities prior to construction.  Chevron Energy contacted GPRS, Inc of Houston/Corpus Christi, Texas to perform the non-destructive test.  This is an ideal application for ground penetrating radar as our radar unit is portable and able to read into the ground.  If any utilities were present we would be able to mark these lines out, we also work with Radio Detection to verify what lines are communication or power. GPRS, Inc. from Houston, Texas took the call and mobilized to the site quickly and in the time frame allowed with the demanding construction schedule.

On site GPRS was able to identify and mark out the utilities around the area of construction quickly and accurately.  We were also able to use our GPS system to pinpoint all of our findings onto their existing files.  Chevron Energy and the NAS base now have a digital record of the findings on their 3 acre plot of land.

Glenn Zebrowski runs GPRS operations in the Houston and Corpus Christi, Texas. He can be reached at (281) 728-7025 or (361) 424-2258 or by email at glenn.zebrowski@gp-radar.com.  Utility scanning is one of the most frequent services performed by the GPR technicians at GPRS.
