Utility Locating at Detroit Metro Airport
in Detroit, Michigan

Utility_Locating_Detroit_Metro_Airport

When Brencal Contractors was scheduled to saw cut a portion concrete out of the tarmac to upgrade the fuel lines at Detroit Metro Airport, they called Ground Penetrating Radar System, Inc. Prior to saw cutting, they needed a safe and effective way to help eliminate the possibility of cutting through any electrical conduit or other unknown obstruction. We were also asked to locate and find the 90 degree bend in the fuel line located 3 ½’ deep.

The GPR survey area was approximately 400 square feet with concrete thickness of 18” plus. GPRS was able to locate the existing fuel line and find the 90 degree bend in the pipe. We also helped eliminate the fears of saw cutting through any potential electrical conduits that may have been running through the area.
