Trenchless Specialties Utility Locating Project
at Seaworld in Orlando, Florida

Trenchless Specialties is a unique contractor providing quality directional boring.  A common concern that Trenchless Specialties encounters is the possibility of hitting an underground utility.  Because Trenchless performs all pipe installations without digging or excavation they have no way of knowing what utilities might be in the path of their drill rig.  This was the precise concern prior to drilling a 500 lineal foot bore at Seaworld in Orlando, FL.

Trenchless Specialties contact Ground Penetrating Radar Systems and asked them to mobilize to the site and map all utilities in the bore path.  GPRS and Trenchless have worked together on several projects and therefore GPRS knows exactly what is needed for this type of survey.  Once on site GPRS found and marked many known and unknown utilities including live electrical power, water lines, sanitary sewer lines, telecommunications, chilled water return and supply lines, etc.  The survey was conducted efficiently and the utility findings were painted directly on the surface, as you can see in the pictures below.

A major concern for Trenchless Specialties is the elevation/depth of the utility.  Trenchless can control the depth of the boring with pinpoint precision and therefore they can typically maneuver around a potential strike hazard.  Trenchless relies on GPRS to provide them with accurate depth findings for all utilities on the path of the drill.
