Pre-Cast Slab Investigation
at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah

Did you know concrete buildings built before 1971 may not have the structural support to withstand an earth quake? It wasn’t until the earth quake of 1971 in California that made people think about adding additional reinforcing steel. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Salt Lake City recently visited a concrete structure in Ogden for ARW Engineers to discover the type of reinforcing it had in its concrete structure. The technician on site was able to determine the type of reinforcing, spacing and size. This information will allow ARW engineers to determine if the integrity of the structure
is safe.

Pre-Cast Slab Investigation

Nondestructive testing is the best way to get results especially in an active building. Radar technology does not emit any harmful radiation such as x-ray which would require the evacuation of the building prior to preforming the work. GPRS of SLC is dedicated to the accuracy and efficiency in which the work is preformed ensuring our customers receive only the best quality of data the industry can offer.
