Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Salt Lake City recently mobilized to Jackson Wyoming to investigate a concrete slab that was believed to have PT Cables for Symmetry Contracting. Symmetry Contracting had to drill holes through the slab to bring up some utilities and needed to avoid cutting the dangerous cables. The technician on site was able to locate the cables and map their position directly on the surface of the concrete in a matter of minutes.
Digital concrete imaging is a quick and easy way to locate post tension cables in concrete prior to saw cutting. The process is extremely fast due to its live feed system, which means the targets are mapped out on the surface of the concrete as they are located in real time. Concrete radar also does not emit any radiation like traditional x-ray so data can be collected on an active job site.
