Post Tensioned Cable Locate at University of Utah
in Salt Lake City, Utah

PT Locating

Post tensioned cables are one of the most hazardous obstacles a concrete cutting company
faces in their day to day tasks. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Salt Lake City was recently contracted to the University of Utah to locate some post tensioned cables. Taylor Electric need to core through a post tensioned concrete slab and needed to know the precise location of the cables which is why they called GPRS Inc. of Salt Lake City. A GPRS technician can quickly mobilize on
site and layout the locations of any dangers below the surface whether that is a void or a
plastic conduit.

PT Cable LocateConcrete imaging is a new technology used to locate dangers in concrete and has been quoted to be “the new way to x-ray”. The reason for this is because concrete radar is a non-destructive method of investigation that does not emit any radiation. This means that it can be used on active jobsite and building without having to clear a safety perimeter. The subsurface imager also operates on a live feed system which mean the dangers are plotted on the surface as there found in real time, no more waiting for film to develop! GPRS of Salt Lake City can mobilize to any jobsite in the Utah area, recently we have been in: North Salt Lake, Cedar City and Sandy.
The Boise office has ventured as far as Pocatello, Twin Falls and Ketchum.
