Post Tensioned Cable Locate at BYU
in Provo, Utah

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Salt Lake City was called back to a pedestrian bridge at BYU due to their success locating post tensioned cables and rebar on the first mobilization. GPRS Inc. expanded on their original scans to provide more information. The contractor had to cut the post tensioned cables in order to install an addition to the bridge and needed to know exactly where the cables were. The technician on site was able to map the cables position on the surface of the concrete but also give precise depths to the cables as well.

Concrete imaging is the best way to locate any reinforcing steel in concrete because it is a
non-destructive method, meaning it doesn’t have any adverse effects to the concrete or surrounding personnel. Sub surface investigations with GPR also operate on a live feed system meaning the data is collected immediately and can be mapped on the surface of the concrete. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Salt Lake City can perform this service in Ogden, Park City and Provo in Utah. GPRS of Boise can service Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Pocatello.
