Park West Village Project
in Morrisville, North Carolina

Concrete Surveying

In August of 2011, GPRS completed a job at the Park West Village project in Morrisville, North Carolina. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was requested on-site for a concrete survey to locate the reinforcing steel in a wall with Tilt Up type construction. Seretta Construction was the contractor for this assignment. The structural engineers needed a way to X-ray the concrete and verify the rebar spacing for inspection.

Area ScanThe area that needed scanned was up on a wall approximately 15 feet off the ground. A lift was required and full fall harness protection as well. GPRS takes safety very seriously and has not had an incident in the 10 years of GPR service. All precautions were taken and the job was completed safely.

The results of the scan were clear and thorough. Rebar was found both vertically and horizontally on 12 inch centers. This is exactly the information the engineers were looking for. Nate Stair was the technician for this job. Nate has been with GPRS since March of 2011 and has completed over 50 jobs for the company.
