Boshamer Stadium Scoreboard where GPRS located Footings to verify the layout of the foundation |
In September of 2011, Ground Penetrating
Radar Systems was requested on-site at Boshamer Baseball Stadium to locate footings for the digital score board. Carolina Baseball is updating the score board
and needed to know the size of the foundation to verify the strength of the structure. GPR is the perfect technology for this type of project. GPRS has been locating sub-surface foundations along with other applications since 2001 and celebrates its 10 years of service this month.
This job required the use of the 400MHz antenna. In the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area this particular antenna can read depths of 6-8 feet. The foundations for the scoreboard were located at 12” deep and read a thickness of 8” of concrete. Our customer was very satisfied with the results of the survey. We found that each post had adequate footing support and no extra concrete for the foundation was needed.
