When TruWay GreenTech was beginning their project at the Anacostia Naval Base, connected to Bolling AFB, in Washington, DC, prior to any work being done on the old Garage they needed to determine what was in the concrete. GPRS in Northern Virginia was contacted and arrived on site to determine several items: rebar placement, Post tension location and the thickness of the concrete. Ground Penetrating Radar is the perfect application for this type of investigation. With the ground penetrating radars completely nondestructive testing methods, day to day operations of places like Military installations can continue without being disturbed. Regional Director, Jamey Harmon was able to come to the site and scan several locations marking out all of the findings in real time with a depth to each item located that would ensure there were no project delays.
If you have an upcoming project in Virginia or Maryland and need to locate rebar, conduits, post tension or any other items within the concrete contact Jamey Harmon at (703)728-7333 or at Jamey.harmon@gp-radar.com.
