GPRS of Omaha, NE was recently contacted by Ideal Construction to perform a concrete x-ray in Omaha, NE by using ground penetrating radar. The GC was in the process of doing a tenant finish project for the Saigon Surface Restaurant in the downtown Omaha area. The concrete slab that the restaurant sat on was reinforced with post tension cables (near a parking garage) and posed a real concern when core drilling for future mechanical penetrations.
The technician on site was able to mark the precise location of the reinforcement (pt cables in concrete) directly on the surface to leave no question when the time comes to drill. The offices and parking garage surrounding the Omaha jobsite did not need to be evacuated due to any radiation typically cause by x-raying concrete. Ground penetrating radar does not release any harmful radiation into the air. Business can continue as usual.
GPR is referred to as many different things such as subsurface imaging, Concrete Sonar, Ground Radar, Concrete X-ray, Concrete Imaging, Concrete Scanning, and sometimes just “imaging”.
GPRS, Inc. of Omaha is able to perform GPR services in all of Nebraska including: Omaha, Lincoln, Kearney, Grand Island, Aurora, Fremont, North Platte and Council Bluffs. Our gpr service area includes areas such as Des Moines, IA and Columbia, Missouri and Topeka, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.
