At the Harrisburg International Airport in Middletown, Pa, heightened security measures called for new screening equipment to be installed in their main TSA entrance. Given the high airport safety protocols, exhausting all efforts to warrant safe construction would be mandatory. Naturally, GPRS was called to assist in delivering the safest execution of this project by identifying any obstructions in the concrete in 17 locations before coring would take place.
Areas were scanned with our 1.6 GHz antenna and radio detection transmitter, successfully identifying all conduits and obstructions in the coring areas before the projects start. As seen in the picture displaying the full coring area, the projected core hole would have to be moved in order to avoid obstructions passing through. This can happen frequently at sites, which is why it is important to use ground radar to avoid these dangers. Even if the core cannot be made in its original and intended location, space can still be made available for the core to be moved to a safe location.
