I-15 Project in Orem, Utah

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Salt Lake City was recalled to the I-15 projects by Provo River Constructors due to the accuracy GPRS provided on the first visit. The technician on site was asked to investigate the on and off ramp in Orem to determine the location of reinforcing steel in the new roadway. The technician was able to provide Provo River Constructors with a considerable amount of data that will help them in constructing the most structurally sound roadway possible.

Surface Penetrating Radar is the best way to perform investigations to ensure structural steel is placed correctly in concrete. This ensures that costly problems will not develop later due to misplaced reinforcing steel. Concrete imaging is also used on roadway to inspect for voids developing below the surface.
