The General Motors facility in Lordstown, OH recently required the use of GPR to locate rebar in concrete. An area of a concrete slab and a concrete wall needed additional support and reinforcing. Prior to drilling into the concrete to add dowel rods, the contractor used GPRS. The contractor called us and we were able to mobilize and complete the work on the following business day. We used Ground Penetrating Radar in order to locate the rebar in the concrete. We were able to accurately locate the center of each bar and their depths. We marked the locations of the rebar onto the concrete so that the dowel rods could be drilled into the concrete without damaging the existing rebar and reinforcing.
