Ground Penetrating Radar Systems Michigan was recently contacted by structural engineers to evaluate an old buildings CMU block walls, floors, and columns. The engineers did not have any documentation on the construction of the building and did not want to avert to destructive means to obtain such information.
Utilizing non-invasive radar technology, GPRS was able to gather the information needed in a matter of 4 hours at the site. In this time frame the engineers were able to gather details such as re-steel spacing on the CMU block walls, floor thicknesses and re-steel spacing, column re-steel quantity and spacing.
