Ground Penetrating Radar Scan Performed
At Department of Water Resources Pumping Plant
in Bakersfield, California

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. (GPRS) of California was contacted by the Department of Water Resources to perform concrete scanning (“x-ray”) in Bakersfield, CA. Concrete scanning was used to check the concrete floor slab and roof slab in several areas in order to locate rebar and electrical conduits prior to core drilling, as well as installing anchor bolts. GSSI GPR equipment was used to locate rebar in every location that was scanned. We were able to locate all of the rebar and even an unexpected conduit that was running through the area. GPR can detect conduit and plastic or PVC conduit. The data is able to be marked directly on the surface with no wait time for processing or developing. GPR can also determine depths.

so that anchors can be drilled without hitting any obstructions.

Geophysical mapping is a great tool to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits prior to core drilling, drilling for anchor bolts, or saw cutting. The concrete imaging process is entirely non destructive and free of radiation or health hazards. Please contact Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GPRS) to learn how we can assist with your project.
