 Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of New York
was called to scan 100 proposed hole locations
in a high rise building in Manhattan. Coring for
some new electrical piping was needed in an elevated slab.
The technician was able to determine the location
of reinforcement and conduits in the area so
that the core could be placed in an optimal location. GPR is a great tool to locate conduits and reinforcing steel within concrete slabs. It can save time and money in costly repairs as well as prevent injuries from live electrical lines. Non-destructive testing is a great way for facilities to preserve the structural integrity prior to any concrete coring or saw-cutting.
