When a residential or commercial building needs to undergo a renovation many times the contractor or engineers have no idea where the reinforcement and/or conduits are located in the slab. Prior to core drilling it is essential to know where the reinforcement and conduits are located to prevent costly repairs or the potential of an injury to a worker. When a local mechanical contractor needed to renovate a new condominium in downtown Little Rock, they called Ground Penetrating Radar Systems to scan the floor. GPRS was able to quickly and effectively locate all the post-tension cables and provide them with areas they could safety core drill. GPR is a safe and quick way to locate rebar, post-tension cables, and conduits in a concrete slab, whether it is elevated or it is slab on grade.
