GPRS of Nebraska (Omaha) completed a utility survey for BIS Frucon at the Proctor & Gamble Iams Facility in Aurora, Nebraska. A trench was to be dug across the facility grounds and there was concern over the utilities that might cross the path of the future digging. Ground Penetrating Radar is a great tool to answer some of the questions about what lies beneath the surface – especially if there are no records or drawings documenting where water, gas and electrical lines may run.
All anomalies found to cross the path when trenching were marked out on the surface of the concrete and discussed in the field. An approximate depth to each utility was given on the surface as well.
Our company provides Ground Penetrating Radar Services. A good percentage of our work does deal with assisting in the detection of finding underground utilities. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a Geophysical Mapping technique. GPR is a great tool for utility locating.
