GPRS Locates Utilities Prior to
Environmental Soil Investigation in Tampa, Florida

Partner Engineering had a project at the South Tampa Family Dentistry in Tampa, FL which involved conducting an environmental soil investigation.  The property had been a gas station at one time and there were no records of the underground storage tanks (USTs) having been removed.  Additionally, they were performing soil borings in six locations to examine the soil for petroleum contamination and needed to have these locations cleared for utilities prior to drilling.  Partner Engineering decided to contact Jim James with Ground Penetrating Radar Systems to see what type of locating service they could provide.  GPRS quickly informed them that with their technology it should not be difficult to locate any USTs that may be on site as well as provide utility locating for the soil boring locations. .  GPRS mobilized to the site and used ground penetrating radar and radio detection to perform the UST/utility locating survey in about two hours.

When the survey was complete GPRS was able to verify that there were no abandoned USTs on site.  The survey was also able to locate all utilities around the soil boring locations so that Partner could safely drill at all six locations.
