With the release of several new electric cars in 2011, Duke Energy decided to install several electric car charging stations in their Mint Street Parking Garage in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. Before any concrete is cut or cored at any Duke Energy Facility, they always have the area scanned with Ground Penetrating Radar to locate any embeddeded conduits, rebar, and post-tensioned cables. Mitch Ross of GPRS Charlotte performed the concrete scanning to locate the reinforcing steel and conduit prior to the concrete penetration. To have conduits and rebar located at your site in North or South Carolina, contact Mitch Ross at (704) 501-7089 or Mitch.Ross@GP-Radar.com.
GPRS can perform concrete scanning in any occupied work area. Unlike concrete x-ray, Ground Penetrating Radar produces no hazardous radiation.
GPRS marks the located conduit and PT cable directly on the site in real time, so you can be sure the obstructions are marked in the right place. |
