GH Phipps construction contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. of Denver to assist on the Budweiser Events Center Project in Loveland, Colorado. Steel plates needed to be bolted into existing concrete in order to add additional concrete which would strengthen the columns within the building. When bolting the plates to the concrete the contractor was concerned about striking the existing rebar.

The Denver office of GPRS came out to the Loveland site and was able to map out the reinforcing, non-destructively, for seven columns. The image below shows how the data from a GPR concrete scan is plotted on the surface.

Jason Schaff is the Regional Director for GPRS Colorado, to schedule a concrete survey he can be reached at 303-945-5415 or Jason.Schaff@GP-Radar.com.
