In June of 2010, Datum Engineers of Austin, TX, contacted Chad Fischer of Ground Penetrating Radar Systems in San Antonio, TX to identify the thickness of the roof at The Alamo. They also needed to locate the rebar in the roof, to identify its spacing and depth. Due to the age and importance of the roof, a safe, non-invasive process was required. GPRS was able to arrive on site when needed to help them by finding and marking all rebar, and identifying the depth of the slab.
