When utilities needed to be marked out prior to directional boring for the new chiller lines they knew they needed to use Ground Penetrating Radar to get it done. Because with Ground Penetrating Radar technology they would have the best chance of not having an accident on the job site. Ground Penetrating Radar can be used to locate all types of underground utilities and can provide an estimated depth to the top of the utility.
The school system feared that the utilities would be struck and this would hinder them from day to day operations. Once Regional Director Jamey Harmon was contacted he was able to come to the site the next day and clear the half acre area in a matter of hours helping the school system feel more comfortable with the project. While on the site over 12 utility lines were located and also the piping for a UST that had been removed in the 80’s. With all of the items located and marked onto the surface the project was able to continue without delay, If you need to find what is beneath the surface for your upcoming project in Virginia or Maryland contact Regional Director Jamey Harmon at 703-728-7333 or Jamey.harmon@gp-radar.com.
