Scaning for post tension cable and
rebar placement in Washington, DC

GPR technologyIn August 2009, Ground Penetrating Radar was contacted to scan for post tension cable and rebar placement in a new construction in Washington, DC. The customer needed to core a 5” hole for riser placement for the fire protection system and was concerned about striking the post tension cables during coring. The GPRS Regional Office located in Arlington, Virginia was able to respond out to the job the site the next day and mark out all the items in this 8” concrete floor. With marking the items out onto the floor while on site this alleviates any delays in the work and saves money. With the benefit of using our GPR technology we are also able to come to the sight during normal working hours and conduct GPR without having to clear the area of any workers unlike X-Ray.

If your company needs GPR conducted in Washington, DC or in Virginia contact Regional Director Jamey Harmon for a quote or to answer any questions you may have. The Virginia GPRS Office can be contacted at (703)728-7333 or Jamey.harmon@gp-radar.com. If you have further questions about GPR we will also come to you for a Demo of GPR so you can see for yourself the benefits.
