Net Jets - When Net Jets, a Berkshire Hathaway company decided to add pillars to the new mezzanine area they had concerns that the existing concrete would not be thick enough to support each of the six pillars.

Johns Hopkins Hospital At Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, Kimball Construction needed to drill, cut, and core concrete in almost 100 locations in early April 2008.

GameTime When GameTime designs a playground installation, they have to concerns regarding underground utilities. First, that when they dig the footers for the equipment, they do not cut or damage any underground utilities, especially high voltage electric lines.

Hydrologic Associates USA, Inc. When Hydrologic Associates USA, Inc. in Miami, FL needed to survey a former gas station to locate any underground storage tanks (UST’s) that may still be onsite, they contact Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc.

Akron Children’s Hospital When The Akron Children’s Hospital needed to make a 1 inch diameter penetration through a concrete roof without hitting post-tensioned cables, they called GPRS, Inc.

Arcadis UST The Akron, OH office of Arcadis, US had a project where they needed to determine the location of abandoned Underground Storage Tanks (UST’s) in Kent, OH.

Cleveland Cement When Cleveland Cement needed to saw cut trenches at the Marymount Sports Health Clinic in Garfield Heights, OH, they first called GPRS, Inc. to locate conduits and pipes under the concrete.

JLG Industries JLG Industries, Inc in Orrville, OH had a diesel fuel leak. During excavation to repair the leak, they broke a buried electrical line. Before continuing the excavation, they called GPRS, Inc. in order to locate any underground utilities coming through the area.

GLE Associates In late January of 2008, GLE Associates of Tampa, FL needed ground penetrating radar to check for Underground Storage Tanks in Decatur, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta.

Arlington National Cemetery In February 2008 the Virginia/DC GPRS office had the opportunity to work at Arlington National Cemetery. AMT Engineering of Rockville, MD hired our company to provide Ground Penetrating Radar services for underground utility locating at the cemetery.

Property Consulting Group GPRS, Inc was contacted by Property Consulting Group about performing a Ground Penetrating Radar survey for the purpose of locating voids beneath the concrete surrounding a pool.

Bergelectric Company Winter Garden, FL GPRS, Inc was contacted by Bergelectric Company about locating rebar and post tensioning cables in a concrete slab at the new Grande Palisades Resort being built in Winter Garden, FL. Berg had a few sleeve locations that had missed the proposed wall lines.

Epcot/Walt Disney World, FL GPRS, Inc was contacted by Buena Vista Construction Company about locating electrical conduit prior to saw cutting. Their plan was to cut an existing concrete slab to run new electrical conduit to a display.

Carter Electric Company Concrete Scanning GPRS, Inc was contacted by Carter Electric Company about locating electrical conduits beneath the concrete slab of a Guess Factory Store. Carter planned to remove the concrete in three small areas which required saw cutting.

IVI Environmental In February of 2008, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was contracted by IVI Environmental to perform Underground Storage Tank surveys at 5 sites throughout the southeast.

Aqua Tower - During the course of building a tower over eight hundred feet tall, numerous unforeseen issues are bound to arise, no matter how carefully things are planned.

Marriott Schaumburg - Beginning in November 2006, the Marriott Hotel in Schaumburg, IL underwent a major renovation including upgrades to every one of their 400 guest rooms.

Underground Storage Tanks - Underground Storage Tanks which were abandoned in place are a common source of aggravation during real estate transactions. Any property which was once used as a gas station is automatically suspected of housing abandoned tanks, and potentially incurs a host of environmental regulatory issues and costs.

Clarion Construction - For any company seeking to renovate a facility, the presence of electrical conduits in the floors can pose a significant problem. Aside from knocking out power and potentially disrupting work elsewhere in the building, cutting through a live conduit can be a significant safety hazard.

Community Hospital - More than perhaps any other facilities, hospitals have a significant need to locate electrical conduits prior to any cutting or drilling. In a manufacturing facility or residential complex, cutting an electrical line can be a major inconvenience.

BE Aerospace – GPR Project, Winston-Salem, NC When an aerospace design and testing company in Winston-Salem, North Carolina needed to redesign their testing sled, they wanted to do so without damaging any reinforcing in their concrete

Epicentre - Charlotte, North Carolina While still at a relatively early stage in the building process, the contractors were very frustrated at the prospect of bringing in a traditional x-ray to locate reinforcing steel and conduits.

Beaches Condo on Singer Island The customer was planning on doing a bathroom renovation and needed to know where they could drill a 5” core without hitting any rebar or post tensioned cables in the floor.

William Powell Bridge - Gannett needed to verify the presence of reinforcing steel in the pier caps in order to determine what loads could be placed on the bridge. They also need a way to do this non-destructively as the bridge is in use on a daily basis.

Walsh Construction - Walsh Construction was faced with was cutting and removing approximately 80,000 square feet of concrete floor. Hundreds of electrical and communications conduits and UPS lines run through these floors.

Paper Mill - What do you do when your floor is collapsing? That was the question being asked by a paper mill in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, FL - Ground Penetrating Radar System , Inc was contacted by Johnson Laux Construction Group to perform Ground Penetrating Radar scans with the intentions of locating unknown electrical conduit prior to saw cutting concrete in the Hospital.

Burlington Coat Factory in Kissimmee, FL - Ground Penetrating Radar System, Inc was contacted by Johnson Laux Construction Group about performing a Ground Penetrating Radar survey to locate underground utilities prior to erecting the Burlington Coat Factory sign. 

Brasfield & Gorrie Job in Downtown Tampa, FL - Ground Penetrating Radar System, Inc was contacted by Brasfield & Gorrie about mapping rebar and post-tensioning cable in a structural concrete slab prior to setting anchor bolts to hold a large piece of art.    

Longboat Key, FL Hurricane Shutter Installation - Ground Penetrating Radar System, Inc was contacted by Global Hurricane and Safety Shutters to survey the concrete balcony and locate all reinforcing steel that may be hit during the installation of the shutters.

- Ground Penetrating Radar was recently contacted by a structural engineer in the Detroit, MI area about a local elementary school experiencing settling with its exterior walls and some floor areas.

November 5th, 2007 - Ground Penetrating Radar System, Inc. was contacted to scan an exposed grade beam that was to be removed at a Chrysler plant in Detroit, Michigan.

Ground Penetrating Radar Cleveland Clinic Hospitals - The Cleveland Clinic Hospital system in Cleveland, OH has been drastically improving its existing facilities and building new structures the past decade.

Lake Erie Electric - When Lake Erie Electric needed to make 6” diameter penetrations through a concrete floor at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, they first contacted Ground Penetrating Radar System, Inc. Lake Erie needed to make these penetrations without cutting any rebar.

RW Schoolfield – Underground Electrical Utility

- RW Schoolfield needed to replace or repair all of the electrical for the parking lot lighting since it was becoming dark enough that it was considered a safety hazard. 

Drury Inn and Suites - It was discovered after the concrete had been poured that some mechanical penetrations were not sleeved in the post-tension slabs. 

Plan Art Associates - Boca Raton, FL - GPRS, Inc was contacted by Plan Art Associates about locating underground utilities in and around two different electrical boxes.

Florida Tel-Con Concrete Scanning - Jupiter, FL - GPRS, Inc was contacted by Florida Tel-Con about locating electrical conduit embedded in and below the concrete floors of a Verizon Wireless building.

Sibley Solutions Project - Memphis, Tennessee - GPRS, Inc was contacted by Sibley Solutions about locating underground utilities in and around a proposed construction site at the Baxter Facility in Memphis, TN. 

Horizon Retail Construction - At GPRS, we deal with these issues for the construction industry on a daily basis.  Mitch Ross of GPRS was able to quickly and accurately locate the Post Tension cables and conduit in this concrete slab. 

Commercial Finnish Group - Construction never stops, not even in a busy mall in the middle of the Christmas shopping season.  As a “Noodles” Restaurant was being put into an existing mall in December of 2007, the mall management wanted to be sure that the operation of the rest of the facility would not be disturbed. 

Tech Network Services - L Tech was installing a new cable network to all of the cubicles and needed to core drill without hitting conduit.  They first tried an X-Ray company who gave up after doing several locations. 

Arora GPR Property Inspection - Old maps indicated the presence of four different underground storage tanks on site.  Of the four, two of the UST were thought to be removed; however, the other two were unaccounted for. 

Seaworld Orlando, FL and United Electrical use GPR - GPRS, Inc was contacted by United Electrical Contractors, Inc. about locating reinforcing steel (rebar) in a wall.  The work was to be completed at Shamu Stadium at Seaworld of Orlando, Florida.

HW Davis Construction - When HW Davis Construction of Orlando, FL needed to add electrical floor boxes at the Orlando International Airport without hitting any electrical conduits they contacted GPRS, Inc of Orlando, FL.

JW Wilde Bradenton - When JW Wilde Mechanical of Sarasota, FL needed to excavate a 600 foot trench directly above two hot water lines on the campus of Manatee Community College in Bradenton, FL without hitting other utilities in the area they contacted GPRS, Inc of Orlando, FL.

George Fuller White Plains - When George A. Fuller Company needed to locate post-tensioned cables in White Plains, NY, they called Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc.

Arcadis GM - During soil testing at a GM Stamping Plant in Pittsburgh, PA, Arcadis drilled through an electrical conduit that they were not aware of.  They then called GPRS, Inc. to locate conduits prior to drilling all of the remaining soil testing locations.

Renaissance Hotel - The new Renaissance Hotel by Marriott at the North Hills mall in Raleigh, North Carolina needed the post-tensioned cable and rebar located prior to coring through the concrete.

Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Interational Airport - To reduce congestion around the Atlanta International Airport, a new system known as CONRAC is being developed for access to the rental car facilities.

RCI Systems, Inc. - When RCI Systems, Inc. needed to locate post-tension cables and rebar prior to core drilling at a facility in Phoenix, Arizona, they called Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, GPRS. 

Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan - Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan is currently undergoing a 3-year IT infrastructure upgrade to over 40 of its buildings. Maryland Electric out of Clinton Township, Michigan was awarded Phase 1 of the project.

Greektown Casino Hotel - In the past couple of months, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems has worked several times for the John E Green Co. on the new Greektown Casino Hotel project in downtown Detroit, MI.

Toledo Zoo Project Highlights GPR Project, Toledo, OH - The Toledo Zoo has been a recurring customer of GPRS the past few years. Recently, their 70-year old museum was experiencing water damage to its northwest foundation wall and was flooding the basement on a frequent basis.

The Friendly Plumber GPR Project, Tampa, FL - When the Friendly Plumber of Tampa, FL needed to saw cut a trench into an existing concrete slab on grade without hitting any electrical conduits or utilities they contacted GPRS, Inc of Orlando, FL.

Hancock Center 39th floor -During a renovation of an office suite on the 39th floor of the John Hancock Center in Chicago, IL, holes needed to be drilled to accommodate new plumbing and electric lines.

area of the concrete floor to be removed in order to access a 480-volt
electric conduit.

Parkview Hotel -The historic Parkview Hotel on the north side of Chicago has been undergoing a major renovation. As part of this remodeling, new mechanical equipment and shelving was installed on the penthouse level.

Testing Services Corporation -With older manufacturing facilities, the records regarding Underground Storage Tanks are frequently lacking. It can be unclear whether a UST was removed, abandoned in place, or if it was ever installed as intended.

Biscayne Engineering Co. GPR Project, Miami, FL - When Biscayne Engineering Co. of Miami, FL needed to conduct several concrete investigations on tie beams, intermediate tie beams, columns, and column footers at an upcoming construction project in Miami, FL they contacted GPRS, Inc of Orlando, FL.

Industrial Commercial Structures GPR Project, Melbourne, FL - When Industrial Commercial Structures of Orlando, FL needed to saw cut and excavate roughly 3,000 square feet of concrete without hitting any of the existing utilities buried beneath a 6” concrete slab at the Melbourne Mall they contacted GPRS, Inc of Orlando, FL.
