Omaha, NE Manufacturing Facility
Uses GPRS to Concrete X-Ray

A local mechanical contractor called GPRS of Omaha, Nebraska when a trench needed to be cut in a concrete slab on grade. There was concern over hitting conduits or pipes that could be in or below the concrete slab. Traditional concrete x-ray methods would not work on this project due to it being accessible only one side of the slab. GPR Technology (sometimes called Concrete Imaging or Sonar) was capable of producing the results required so GPRS of Omaha was called and promptly mobilized to the Nebraska site.

GPRS technician was quickly able to locate three conduits

On site the GPRS technician was quickly able to locate three conduits that ran across the path of the future trench in the concrete. The conduits located were just underneath the concrete slab, but were still found by the GPR technology. The areas found to have conduits were marked on the surface so that when saw cutting the areas could be chipped out.
