After a concrete pour was completed on a school in Gallup, New Mexico it was noticed that the reinforcement steel could be seen coming through the top of the concrete in multiple locations. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. was called to the site to verify the amount of concrete that was over the top of the steel in the entire pour. A GPRS technician quickly mobilized to the site and scanned the slab to verify the placement of the prefabricated wire mesh mats. Images of the scans were saved and compiled into a written report to the client explaining our findings.

GPR technology is frequently used as a tool to assist in finding out what lies within a concrete slab in New Mexico. We are able to determine the spacing of rebar in concrete, verify the depth to the top of the reinforcement steel, and we can determine the thickness of a concrete slab. GPR is a non-destructive way to verify steel in concrete even in a slab-on-grade.

If you would like to schedule a Non-Destructive Concrete Test please contact GPRS of Albuquerque at 505.250.6742 or email at Jason.schaff@gp-radar.com. GPRS would be thrilled to perform a GPR scan in New Mexico cities such as Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Las Cruces, Gallup or Farmington.
