MICHIGAN REBAR INVESTIGATION
GPR PROJECT JULY 2009

scanned the wall with the ground penetrating radarGPRS, Inc. recently traveled to northern Michigan to help a client determine if a contractor installed rebar properly between a retaining wall and basement foundation wall. The investigation needed to verify if rebar was pinned into the foundation wall to structural connect a retaining wall that was on the exterior of the residence.

John Kessinger and Chad Fischer from GPRS, Inc. mobilized to the site within a couple days notice of the situation. It is common for clients to contact us and need us to mobilize on short notice and this is something GPRS prides itself in providing. After arriving on site, we scanned the wall with the ground penetrating radar. Within just a few minutes it was determined that the rebar was not pinned into the foundation wall. This information was gathered and stored in the ground penetrating radar system for a report to be generated for the client. The report will help the client prove that the rebar was not installed properly and will most likely help him receive restitution.

The picture above shows GPRS technician John Kessinger scanning the foundation wall with the ground penetrating radar. The ground penetrating radar has the ability for 2-Dimensional viewing immediately after data collection.

John Kessinger runs operations in Michigan and can be reached at 734.377.4551 or by email at john.kessinger@gp-radar.com
