Horizon Retail Construction used Ground Penetrating Radar Systems in December of 2007 in Washington DC. They had to core drill several holes into a structural concrete slab above a parking garage for mechanical and electrical piping in a new Lane Bryant store. There was extreme concern about how to drill the necessary holes safely because they knew the structure was reinforced with post-tension cables and there was a substantial amount of electrical conduit running through the slab.
At GPRS, we deal with these issues for the construction industry on a daily basis. Mitch Ross of GPRS was able to quickly and accurately locate the Post Tension cables and conduit in this concrete slab. Concrete scanning applications are the primary service we provide with ground penetrating radar.
