Ground penetrating radar can be used to locate reinforcing in precast concrete panels. GPRS was able to locate reinforcing in concrete walls at a medical facility at West Virginia University. We marked the locations of the reinforcing directly onto the surface so that openings could be made through the walls without damaging any important structural components. We need access to only one side of the concrete and GPR does not emit any dangerous radiation.
